“Garments can be branded in a variety of ways:

Embroidery: manage your clients expectation on fine logos with small text” In reality some logos are not going to be readable or work embroided and the client needs to know this upfront before everyone starts spending time trying to make something look good that never will.. the logo may need to be edited by way of text changes or it may need to be applied in a different manner.

Screen Print: to get the best effect dark garments will need a further colour added, that is white underlay on the garment or they may need a double hit for more vivid colour.  If you are doing a 2 colour print on a black tshirt be prepared to pay for the 3 colour price and get the underlay and a better lasting better quality print.

Transfer Print:excess washing can cause cracking or puckering” And a word of advice the dryer on hot is just going to kill it!

“Flocking: Reinforce iron care instructions

Sublimation Print: Used only on 100% polyester garments, whereby specialised inks are absorbed by the fabric to give permanent design.  Generally fabrics are sublimated prior to garment being sewn together. Ideally suited for sporting garments such as football jerseys where design is over the entire garment”

REMEMBER to follow the care instructions for the garment.  To get a longer life out of your logoed polo, custom printed tshirt, or embroided shirt it is best not to dry garments in direct sunlight for prolonged periods.  dark colours in particular, should be line dried out of direct sunlight to avoid fading.

With Stretch garments (eg. lycra or elastane) these garments should never be washed in hot water or they will shrink.  Similarly, they must not be dried in the clothes dryer.
